• AGRUMATO OIL, TANGERINE – ESPERIDIA, ABRUZZO

Agrumato is produced by using only olives and citrus strictly free from harmful substances and carefully selected for ripeness and variety. The two ingredients are crushed simultaneously between granite stones. When the resulting paste has obtained the right density the Agrumato is extracted. In the region of Abruzzo, bordering the Adriatic Sea, olive farmers have traditionally created citrus oils for family and friends but was kept always at home for personal use, never sold. The crisp freshness of Agrumato is achieved by the whole-fruit crushing process, which cannot be duplicated by the more common infusion method of other citrus flavored oils. Lemon Agrumato is a unique condiment, the first of its kind introduced by Manicaretti in the early 1990s. Whole lemons are crushed together with the olives in the traditional cold-extraction method to capture or mechanically seal the essential oils of the lemon zest in the resulting extra virgin olive oil.

  • AGRUMATO, BERGAMOT OLIVE OIL 200ML

Bergamot (bergamotto in Italian) is a relative of the bitter orange and most prized for the fragrant essential oil extracted from its skin, which gives Earl Grey tea its signature flavor. Its heady aroma is citrusy, herbal, and boldly floral.

Agrumato® Bergamot captures the unparalleled flavor of Italian bergamots through its unique whole-fruit and olive crushing process. Whole bergamots are crushed together with olives in a state-of-the-art frantoio, sealing the essential oils of the bergamot zest in the resulting extra virgin olive oil. Agrumato® Bergamot is ideal for dressing salads, as an accent for raw scallops or grilled fish, and simply on soft cheeses like stracciatella. It is also excellent in cakes and desserts.

AGRUMATO®, a precious condiment, is the result of the creativity and passion of the Ricci family from Lanciano, in Abruzzo. Traditionally in this region of Italy, olive farmers have celebrated the end of the harvest by crushing lemons with freshly picked olives. The Ricci family had the ingenuity to bottle this unique oil, reviving a nearly forgotten Abruzzese tradition, as well as create new flavors with different citrus fruits.

AGRUMATO® is the original. The Ricci family created and trademarked the word AGRUMATO®— from agrumi, meaning “citrus” in Italian—to describe their delicious olive oil with its bright citrus flavor. AGRUMATO®’s incomparable flavor brightens dishes like no other oil can.
