Edam is one of the most famous Dutch cheeses, traditionally produced in a ball shaoem but now also produced in an easier to handle loaf. It is named after the small Dutch town of Edam where it was first produced. Now produced all over Holland, Edam is a young, mild cheese that is somewhat spicier than mild Gouda.
Jarlsberg is a semi-soft part skim milk cheese. The flavor is sweeter and less nutty than Emmental, with a buttery and rich texture. An all purpose cheese, Jarslberg is good for both cooking and snacking.
The standard bearer of French soft-ripened cheeses is Brie, a creamy cow’s milk cheese. Friendship Brie features a white rind and a cream-colored, buttery, soft interior that oozes when at the peak of ripeness and temperature. This soft cow’s milk cheese has an ash white surface mold and a butterfat content of at least 40%. Packed in convenient tins, these individual portions are perfect for entertaining and snacking!
Smoked Maasdam features a mild, nutty flavor and a subtle smokiness. With a delicious, edible rind, the cheese is smoked over smoldering hickory chips, creating and earthy flavor profile with hints of dark Belgian beer. The pale yellow paste and smooth texture complete this cheese, which will lend a touch of warmth to any dish or cheese platter.
