The remarkable and historic Badia a Coltibuono estate has been producing exquisite Tuscan wine and olive oil since 1058. Badia a Coltibuono offers several styles of oil and is considered one of the most consistent authentic extra virgin olive oil producers in Italy. Badia a Coltibuono means ‘Abbey of the Good Harvest’.
Clear, golden hue with a very sweet and mild flavor and delicate, smooth finish.
Variety olive: 100% Arbequina, Acidity: 0,1, Origin: Ácula, Granada, Andalucía, Spain. Time of harvest: last week of October. Tasting Notes: Its aroma is reminiscent of fruits. Its taste has hints of apple and above all to green bananas. It is barely bitter. It is astringent as the green banana and green almond. Persistent pungency. Its COLOR is golden, green, clear and bright.
World renowned, 100% organic, and one of Spain’s most famous Oils. This oil is estate-produced and bottled. The process begins in the orchards where the olives, which have not been treated with any fertilizers or pesticides, are hand-picked, then pass thorough a rigorous selection at the family’s mill. The olives are crushed under granite stones, an ancient process. Only the oil that flows throw the screens by gravity is bottled in its unfiltered form. This oil has an extraordinary low acidity of 0.1%, 10 times lower than required to be labeled Extra Virgin.
PUGLIA REGION
This is a range of typical oils from different regions of Italy obtained from the most precious varieties of olives and characterized by pleasant fruity flavors and fragrances. Their origin and quality have been certified by independent institutions according to the European Union very strict set of rules (both chemical and sensorial).
Its unique characteristics have been recognized by the Denomination of Protected Origin D.O.P., which indicates superior quality and guarantees the local origin.
This oil is obtained from the olives, the fruit of the olive tree, using exclusively mechanical and physical processes such as washing, decanting, centrifuging and filtration and in conditions that are such as to ensure that the oil cannot be changed in any way. This excludes oils obtained using solvents or re-esterification processes as well as those mixed with oils from other sources.
